Goes on smoothly: OPI Color Variety: Essie Longer Lasting: Essie; I found that OPI would require touch ups. Winner: For me, I really like Essie. Their colors are great & it seems to last longer and chip less (granted it's put on smoothly). Helpful tip: if you put your nail polish in the fridge 30 minutes before you apply it, it goes on smoother.

First coat is patchy. Second coat and both still patchy. Third coat and the Essie is a solid colour whereas OPI is still patchy. Fourth coat of OPI and still slightly patchy. Fifth coat of OPI is still slightly patchy but I left it. Used the Barry M Wet Set Quick Dry Topcoat on all of the nails and also my favourite cuticle oil which is Ciaté.
